Man dies after being trapped under truck that flipped through a ditch, took out a fence and hit a tree: JSO

A man was killed early Thursday morning in a crash on Pinebrook Drive South on Jacksonville’s Westside.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the man was in a red Ford pickup truck with another man -- both in their late 20s -- headed west on Pinebrook Drive South just before 4 a.m. Pinebrook Drive South is off Halsema Road, north of West Beaver Street.
JSO said the driver of the truck missed the curve, and the truck hit a culvert, rolled through a ditch, destroyed a fence and hit a tree.
One of the men was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.
The other man died at the scene after being trapped under the truck.
His death was the 105th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
