Man walking on US 17 in Putnam County killed in hit-and-run: FHP Troopers looking for information about pickup truck that struck, killed pedestrian

A 59-year-old man from Crescent City was killed early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run crash on U.S. 17 in Putnam County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to FHP, the man was walking on U.S. 17 near Gail Drive just after 5 a.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck that then left the scene.
The man died at the scene.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash or the vehicle or driver involved is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS or the Florida Highway Patrol by dialing *FHP (347).
