Man fatally stuck by SUV on Westside makes 27th traffic fatality this year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 50’s died after he was hit while crossing Normandy Boulevard at Lane Avenue on Wednesday night.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said around 8:30 p.m., a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on Normandy Blvd when the driver, a woman in her 50s, did not notice the man crossing the street and hit him.
He died at the hospital.
This makes the 27th traffic fatality in Duval County and the 7th involving a pedestrian.
JSO also said the man was not in a crosswalk.
At the time, JSO said the driver wasn’t expected to face any charges.
