Driver dies when truck hits concrete light pole in Starbucks parking lot at San Jose and University boulevards, JSO says (WJXT)
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A driver died early Monday morning when their truck ran over a curb into the parking lot of a Starbucks on San Jose Boulevard and slammed into a light pole, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Robert Hungerford with JSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit said that around 2 a.m., a GMC Denali was headed west on University Boulevard when it ran off the roadway at the intersection with San Jose Boulevard.

The truck plowed over a curb into the parking lot of a Starbucks, where it hit a concrete light pole and burst into flames, Hungerford said.
The driver died at the scene.
This marks the 41st traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
