ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A 10-year-old and three teenagers were hurt Monday morning when a semi hit the back of their school bus that was stopped to load students on US 301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the semi was headed north on US 301 in Alachua County around 7 a.m. when a school bus was stopped on the highway at Northeast 22nd Lane to pick up students.

The truck driver didn’t stop in time and ended up hitting the back of the bus with its passenger side, losing control and overturning on the highway, FHP said.
According to the report, the school bus driver, a 73-year-old man, was not hurt, but a 10-year-old boy and three teenage girls -- ages 16, 14 and 14 -- were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The 27-year-old man driving the semi suffered serious injuries. His 64-year-old male passenger was not hurt, troopers said.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, according to the FHP report.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
