Man, 63, injured in March crash in Alachua County dies weeks later: FHP

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – A 63-year-old man who was critically injured in a single-car crash on March 12 in Alachua County has died from his injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

FHP said the crash was reported at 4:45 p.m. on March 12 on I-75.

According to the crash report, the man, who is from Trenton, was headed north in a sedan on I-75 about a mile south of State Road 26 when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.

The man, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries, troopers said.

He died May 5.

No other information was provided in the crash report.

FHP is investigating the crash and death.
