‘Our hearts have begun to heal’: Slain woman’s family thanks those who brought killer to justice

Wearing purple butterflies on their lapels in honor of their slain daughter, the parents of a 21-year-old Jacksonville woman murdered in 2017 held back a flood of emotion Thursday as they stood on the courthouse steps and thanked all those responsible for bringing their daughter’s killer to justice.
