Jacksonville University renames Public Policy Institute after Preston Haskell following $12M gift

Jacksonville University dedicated its Public Policy Institute to one of its advisory board’s founding members after a $12 million donation. Preston Haskell, founder of The Haskell Co., a Jacksonville-based construction company, made the eight-figure donation, showing his continued support for the program. “I believe in the mission of the Public Policy Institute — to foster civil dialogue and prepare the next generation of public servants,” Haskell said in a news release. The university also renamed it in his honor. It is now called the Haskell Public Policy Institute.
