14-year-old recognized by Fernandina Beach for finding missing woman with dementia

A 14-year-old was recognized at the Fernandina Beach city commission meeting on Tuesday for helping find a woman with dementia who went missing. On Dec. 12, Bentley Sapp overheard a family at the Zaxby’s on South 14th Street searching for a loved one with dementia. Sapp jumped on his bike and went in the direction of where she was last seen. Sapp said he found her at a nearby business. He called 911 and comforted her until officers and her family arrived. Watch the video below to hear what happened.
