Fleming Island teen still fighting for his life after being hit by car in August | 'Doesn't give up'

A 14-year-old Fleming Island High student, who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a crash while walking with his bicycle in August, continues to fight for his life in the hospital, his family told News4JAX. Ashwanth Kalidas was hit by a truck on Aug. 31, 2025, off U.S. 17 in Clay County. His family said he was walking in the bike lane when he was struck.
