Massive drug bust involving FBI ends with 55 arrests in Glynn County

A recent drug trafficking operation in Glynn County and St. Simons Island led to the arrest of 55 people. The drug operation called “Operation Powder Island” began in the summer of 2022 after federal agents learned that members of the alleged trafficking operation were traveling to Jacksonville, Miami and Atlanta, Georgia, to pick up drugs to bring back to Southeast Georgia.
