There is a free service offered by the Duval County clerk of court’s office that allows residents and business owners to enroll in a property fraud alert program that will notify them if a court document has been submitted in their name. Scammers have successfully stolen property that is not theirs by submitting falsified deeds to take control of property and then sell it for profit. Duval County Clerk of Courts, Jody Phillips joined Jennifer Waugh during her 10 a.m. streaming show, to explain how to enroll and to explain how the scam works to prevent someone from being victimized.
