City Council president forms Special Investigatory Committee after IG requests review of JEA fees

The Jacksonville City Council president, who is currently under investigation for possible ethics violations, announced Tuesday that the council is launching its own investigation into the city’s utility, JEA. Carrico said the city’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) asked for the council’s help in reviewing allegations about millions of dollars in potential unpaid capacity fees owed to the city-owned utility, but according to a member of the OIG, that’s not necessarily the case.
