He stopped to pet a dog on Jacksonville Beach — then collapsed. A stranger’s CPR helped save his life

A quick hello to a dog on Jacksonville Beach turned into a life-or-death moment.   After fishing, 67-year-old Lance Schellpeper collapsed from a heart attack. Jennifer Carde — a physician assistant out walking her rescue dog, Evie — called 911 and started CPR until help arrived. Doctors later told Lance those minutes saved his life.
