News4JAX+ at 10 a.m.: New health screenings for high school athletes

Beginning July 1st, a new Florida law will require all new high school athletes to complete a heart screening before participating in school sports starting in the fall. The required heart screening is an ECG, which is a painless test that can detect an irregular heartbeat, which can be a symptom of an often-fatal heart condition that can cause sudden cardiac death in children. And this Monday, your student can get the test for free. Bob Sefcik is the executive director of Jacksonville Sports Medicine and joins us via Zoom.
