JSO officer charged with battery after witnesses said he threw teen off e-bike at skate park

JSO says veteran officer Stephen D. Hicks was accused by a teenager and multiple witnesses of grabbing the teen off an e-bike and throwing him to the ground inside a Jacksonville Beach skate park. Hicks’ arrest on Saturday marks the fourth JSO employee arrest in 2026, all within a span of three weeks, compared to seven overall in 2025.
