Athletes and the city put on excellent show in first Ironman Jacksonville event

Nearly 2,000 runners entered the first Jacksonville Ironman Triathlon event Saturday. Pedro Gomes won the inaugural event, and Mayor Donna Deegan said she'd heard great review outside of that pesky traffic problem in one of the biggest endurance events in area history.
