Gusty wind with scattered showers through midnight, cooler weekend ahead

Did you say Flurry?

. (.)

The wind has picked up as lines of showers leading the cold front push across the area.  Cloudy with scattered showers and isolated storms possible through midnight.  Today we saw highs in the 70s.  It will be a while before we see those again.  Cloudy and chilly Saturday with colder morning lows Sunday followed by sunny skies.  Scattered showers with storms expected late Monday.

Now:  Cloudy, gusty wind, showers, light rain.

Tonight:  Cloudy skies, patchy to locally dense fog.

Saturday:  Scattered showers will end late Friday night.  The cooler air moves in overnight with cloudy skies and a chilly breeze Saturday.  Wake up temperatures in the 40s for SE GA, 40s-50s for NE FL.  Afternoon highs will only reach the 50s to low 60s under cloudy skies.  Wind NW 10-15 mph.

Sunday will be sunny and a little warmer, but still below normal.

Did you say flurry? It’s all about timing. There are a couple of the models that hold a 10 percent chance for precipitation as the temperatures drop to near freezing. If the rain moves out ahead of the dropping temperatures then we will miss the chance.

Hazards:  Isolated storms through late tonight.  Widespread fog expected late Saturday night, early Sunday morning.

Looking ahead:  Wet start to the week with much cooler temperatures

Sunrise:  7:24 am
