Afternoon rain pattern remains

AFTERNOON FORECAST

Winds from the east will help instigate isolated rain along the coast and for counties just west of I-95 along I-10 during the afternoon. Shortly after 5 pm, storms will develop offshore near the St Johns and Duval County border.

Near the time of sunset isolated to scattered storms could develop near Alachua and Lake counties.

By late evening, the rain ends.

Temperatures will peak into the low 90s to upper 80s however, the ‘feels like’ temperatures will be 5 to 8 degrees higher. It will feel like 99 degrees in some coastal counties for SE GA and NE FL. Shortly after lunchtime, as temperatures peak winds from the east and northeast will be 13 to 17 miles per hour, with gusts in the 20 miles per hour range. Mostly to partly cloudy skies remain. Rain accumulation is near one-hundredth of an inch.

TRACKING THE TROPICS

Low-pressure areas remain in the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico and Southeastern Florida. Both disturbances have a 20 percent chance of developing into a storm within the next seven days.
