Sunday won’t be as hot across Southeast Georgia, Northeast Florida

Widespread rain will keep the heat index below advisory levels

Sunday morning lows

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tonight, temperatures will drop into the mid-to-upper 70s after a very hot and humid Saturday. The cold front over Georgia continues to stall bringing more moisture to the area tomorrow keeping high temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s, slightly cooler than Saturday. We’re not expecting the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory on Sunday.

Summertime norms return on Monday, with highs staying around 90. Rain chances continue in the afternoon.

We’re watching the tropics, too. Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to strengthen into a Category 1 hurricane late Sunday. Landfall north of Corpus Christi is likely between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Monday morning.
