JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Expect another day of high heat and afternoon showers, thunderstorms to damper your Saturday. Like Friday, showers and storms, with the possibility of heavy downpours and gusty winds, will start to pop up around Jacksonville and inland areas after lunchtime. The sea breeze will keep these storms off the coast until mid-afternoon, but most of the area will see some rain today with totals in the .5-1″ range.
Highs will be in the lower 90s with the “feels like” heat index between 105-109 (could tip into the heat advisory range for some). Storms will taper off after midnight as they move offshore.
Partly cloudy skies overnight into Sunday morning will allow most to experience the Full ‘Buck’ or ‘Thunder’ Moon which will rise at 6:17 a.m.
Full 'Buck' Moon, July 21, 2024
Sunday showers and storms will stay mostly inland allowing for a nicer, yet hot and humid, day.
