A mix of sun and afternoon rain on Labor Day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The forecast today is going to be a mix of sun and clouds followed by some rain this afternoon.

We talked all week about how the rain would be heaviest on Labor Day, and it plans to deliver with some showers coming in from the southwest. We can expect these to come in the high heat of the day, and it could get in the way of some of your beach time. These come in the form of isolated pop-ups, some heavy, some light, just be prepared.

Highs today are in the 90s and feels like temperatures in the low 100s. Be sure to drink plenty of water and wear the sunscreen. Have a backup plan to go inside when you start to see the weather turn ugly, especially in our southern Northeast Florida counties this afternoon.
