JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – If you liked yesterday’s weather, you’ll love today’s weather. A very similar dynamic is at play, as the afternoon showers will be more isolated along the I-95 corridor as the East Coast sea breeze moves inland. These showers should be short, staying along I-10 and southward, as the breeze pushes to the west.
Southeast Georgia is expected to have another dry day.
Otherwise, mostly sunny skies and high heat prevail. The beaches will stay below 90 with the onshore breeze, while inland areas soar into the mid-90s.
It’s important to listen to your body and recognize the signs of heat danger.
The first week of summer kicks off on a dry note, with rain chances dipping as low as 10% during the middle of the week. Moisture makes a comeback by week’s end, bringing higher rain chances and the return of classic summer afternoon storms.
Atlantic, Gulf, and Caribbean mostly quiet for now
From the National Hurricane Center: Satellite data indicate that a weak low pressure system has formed about 450 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. The associated showers and thunderstorms remain disorganized, but some slow development is possible during the next day or so while the low moves northeastward over the central Atlantic. By Monday night, however, the system is expected to move over cool waters and into a region of strong upper-level winds, ending its opportunity for development.
Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
Formation chance through 7 days...low...20 percent.
