JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tuesday won’t be as hot, but a heat advisory may be issued as 108-degree feels-like temperatures are likely for portions of the afternoon. Strong storms are forecast for Tuesday starting around lunchtime. The biggest hazards will be heavy downpours and localized flooding.
Looking ahead, Jacksonville can expect on-and-off rain throughout the week as an area of low pressure moves through. A slight cooldown but also the potential for heavier “tropical” showers, especially from midweek into the weekend. The forecast shows daytime highs in the low to mid-90s with chances of rain every day.
As for tropical weather, no immediate threats are present for Northeast Florida. A disturbance in the Gulf has only a 10 percent chance of developing, and at this point is not expected to impact the local area.
