Unsettled weather continues: expect rainy and stormy conditions through the weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As the frontal boundary continues to linger, so do the rain clouds and thunderstorms. The unsettled weather is expected to persist through the end of the week and into the weekend, bringing additional rainfall totals to already saturated ground.

Cloudy skies on Thursday have kept temperatures below 90 degrees for most reporting stations. Heavy rains and isolated thunderstorms have been intermixing with periods of sun popping through. Feels like temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s will stick around with the high humidity.

We’re expecting more rain on Friday, starting before lunchtime and lasting throughout the day as the frontal boundary begins to lift northward. Areas of heavy rainfall can cause localized flooding on roadways that have already seen several inches over the past few days.
