Tracking the Tropics: Tropical Depression likely to develop by next week

A tropical wave that had a low chance of developing is now increasing in probability for development.
It is over the eastern tropical Atlantic in an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. The wave is expected to encounter dry stable air before developing into a tropical depression by next week, according to long-term models.
The disturbance is currently moving west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph over the central tropical Atlantic. It is too soon to confirm the direction of the storm.
Formation chance through the next two days: 20 percent.
