Jacksonville area enjoys gorgeous weather week as tropical systems develop offshore

Sunny, mild forecast with minor flooding advisories

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Let me tell you, it’s just gorgeous out there. If you’ve been looking for the perfect chance to get outside, this is your week.

Right now around Jacksonville, we’re seeing temperatures in the low to mid-60s, with St. Augustine approaching 70 degrees. Even further inland, it’s just a little cooler, but still comfortable and mild.

The air’s calm this morning—really, no breeze to worry about, but honestly, you don’t need one with these temps.

Everywhere you turn, the sky is clear, and there’s almost nothing showing up on Exact Track 4D radar.

That means just a 5% shot at a quick pop-up shower, most likely blowing in from the Atlantic, but nothing you need to plan around today.

If you’ve got outside plans, this is exactly the stretch of weather you’re hoping for!

Sunshine dominates the forecast all week, and temperatures are expected to run just a little below average.

Rain chances are low through the next seven days—less than 10% most days—so get ready to soak in some sunshine.

Watching the tropics closely

It’s not all quiet out there. Our attention is on two systems out in the Atlantic.

One of them has slipped into a pocket of low wind shear and really warm water, so it’s looking more and more likely to become a tropical depression, or maybe even a tropical storm, pretty soon.

The other one isn’t as strong thanks to some surrounding dry air. If it finds those more favorable conditions, it could develop, but at this point, there’s only about a 20% chance in the next seven days.

I’ll be tracking both systems closely for you, so be sure to check back for updates. You’ll always find the latest on The Weather Authority and Exact Track 4D.

Minor flooding and advisories

If you’re anywhere along the coast, keep in mind we’ve still got a minor coastal flood advisory in effect.

This isn’t anything new—we’ve seen it a lot recently—and it’s linked to those higher tides.

As always, if you’re in a low-lying spot near the water, keep an eye out.

A brief shower could pop up after lunch, but it’s unlikely to cause issues.

Wind forecast

Good news for your backyard plans—wind gusts are expected to stay light, mostly in the teens and low 20s.

That means nothing to keep you from getting out for a walk, some yard work, or just kicking back and enjoying the fresh air.

Honestly, this really is the week to treat yourself and enjoy the outdoors.
