Jacksonville Beach forecast: Sunny skies and high rip currents lead the week

Warm, dry weather continues with beach hazard

Picture-perfect weather all week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hi, I’m Katie Garner from The Weather Authority. If you’re a fan of sunshine, I’ve got great news. We are heading into another stretch of gorgeous, picture-perfect weather across northeast Florida and south Georgia.

It’s already feeling fantastic out there. Jacksonville woke up to 62 degrees, with temperatures in the 50s farther inland and 60s to 70s along the coast. By this afternoon, we’re expected to climb into the upper 70s and low 80s, with plenty of sunshine and no rain in sight.

The Exact Track 4D radar shows nothing but clear skies—not a shower to be found. This pattern is forecast to hold for the next several days, so it’s a great time to get outside, whether you want to decorate for Halloween, walk your dog, or try your luck at pickleball.

If you’re taking advantage of the day off from school in Duval County, this is the perfect weather for a trip to the beach or some time in your garden.

High rip current risk at the coast

There is one thing I want to make sure you’re keeping in mind: rip current risk remains high along area beaches. Even with sunny skies and inviting surf, please use caution if you’re heading to the water.

Water temperatures are in the 70s, but strong rip currents mean it’s best to stick close to shore and always follow local safety guidelines.

Weekend changes and gardening advice

Looking ahead, our weekend is shaping up to stay warm and mostly dry. Saturday should keep that sunny trend going, but by Sunday there’s a 20% chance of rain creeping back into the forecast. Otherwise, shower chances remain low, with only a 10% possibility most days.

The tropics are quiet at the moment for our area—Tropical Storm Lorenzo is expected to stay safely out at sea. So, gardeners, you’ll need to keep watering your plants since Mother Nature’s not doing it for you just yet!
