JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rain is on the horizon and it’s set to make a big impact across the area, especially Saturday and Sunday. We are tracking showers rolling in from the west, and those chances really jump by the end of the week.
Expect rain to hit hardest Saturday into Sunday, with rain chances spiking all the way up to 80% during that window. I want you to be on alert for steady showers and pockets of heavier rain, especially into the afternoon and evening hours this weekend.
Event impacts: Jaguars game and parade
Now, if you’ve got plans for big weekend events, you’ll want to keep an umbrella close by.
First up: the Jaguars are hosting the Colts at Everbank Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. As of now, rain is likely during game time. From what I’m seeing, there’s a good chance of getting a decent soaking, and a rain delay is possible – so if you’re tailgating or heading to the game, plan to have some cover handy.
The St. Augustine Christmas Parade also lines up right with our rain chances. If you’re out grabbing a spot early, you’ll probably stay dry through the morning; gathering times look okay around 7 a.m., and the parade kicks off at 9 a.m. But by lunchtime and into the afternoon, showers are forecast to return and stick around. My advice: bring a raincoat if you’ll be staying after the parade.
Current conditions: more mild, rain coming
This morning feels milder than yesterday, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s in our area and not much of a breeze out at Morningstar Marinas. But don’t let the calm deceive you – clouds and rain are coming in fast, and those dry moments won’t last long.
