LIVE RADAR: Slow-moving front brings beneficial rain this weekend, expected to impact Jaguars game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A slow-moving front will keep clouds and rain in the forecast as we head into early next week.

The heaviest of the activity has been focused across Southeast Georgia. This front will slowly shift south into Florida tonight, which means areas that have been relatively dry will likely see an increase in rain coverage.

Due to the position of the front, temperatures for the rest of the day will vary significantly. North of the front in Georgia, temperatures will remain in the 50s. South of the front in Florida, where we see less rain and some sunshine, temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s.

Moderate to heavy rain is likely on Sunday

Sunday’s forecast looks unsettled with pockets of moderate to heavy rain pushing across our area throughout the day. This is due to a developing area of low pressure moving along the stalled front which will be over north Florida. Make sure to dress appropriately if you are heading to the Jaguars game in the afternoon. Highs for the day will be in the 60s.

A few inches of rain could fall through early next week.

Additional rainfall through early next week will generally range from one to four inches with locally higher amounts. Very beneficial for our area since we are in a drought.

High pressure will build back starting on Tuesday, which will bring drier weather and more sunshine to our area. Temperatures will stay in the 60s and 70s for most of the upcoming week.
