JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The rest of the day will be pleasant with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will be in the 70s. Look for a partly cloudy sky overnight with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Viewing for the Geminids meteor shower should be good with some clearing, but some spots could see fog developing by early tomorrow morning.
The Geminids are best viewed at night and just before dawn. Make sure you are in an unobstructed area away from lights for the best viewing conditions.
Sunday will feature more of the same with sunshine and pleasant temperatures. Highs for the day will be in the 60s and 70s. Nice weather for the Jaguars game! It will be breezy later in the day as a front moves across our area, but we are not expecting any rain from it.
This front will usher in frigid air Sunday night into the day on Monday. Lows Monday morning for many spots will be in the 20s and 30s with a widespread freeze likely north and west of the metro.
When you factor in the wind along with the temperatures, it will feel like the teens and twenties for many locations. As a result, a Cold Weather Advisory has been posted for the areas that will have a wind chill drop into the teens and twenties.
Make sure to dress in multiple layers and take protective measures for any outdoor vegetation, A widespread freeze is likely for those areas in the Cold Weather Advisory. A Freeze Watch also remains in effect for the same areas.
