Put away the space heaters and grab your flip flops, warmer days are on the way.
Shaking off the chill as temperatures rise into the upper 50s and 60s. The coldest temperatures and longest periods of freezing occurred from around the Okefenokee Swamp to Waycross. Lows dropped to 27 degrees, with a freeze lasting 10 to 12 hours.
Partly cloudy skies will become cloudy on Wednesday as the next front arrives on Thursday afternoon and passes through early Friday morning. Afternoon highs will remain in the upper 60s to 70s through Friday.
The weekend is looking good too, as sunny skies continue with mild morning lows and pleasant afternoon highs. Open Window Weather!
Tonight: Partly cloudy, not as cold. Temperatures in the upper 30s to 40s inland, 40s and 50s along the beaches.
Wednesday: Becoming cloudy as a cold front approaches from the west. Temperatures will start the day in the upper 30s to 40s for SE GA, 40s and 50s for NE FL. Afternoon highs will reach the 60s to low 70s. Cloudy skies overnight with increasing rain chances Thursday.
Thursday-Friday: Cloudy skies with a chance of showers Thursday through early Friday. Based on the current models, expected rainfall totals will average 0.10 to around 1.0 inch. Isolated storms may be possible over southeast Georgia and along our southern counties for northeast Florida.
Based on long-range temperature models, keep the flip-flops handy. Warmer-than-normal temperatures are expected to continue through Christmas.
