Warm weather to give way to colder new year

Freeze watch issued for Georgia early this week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The rest of the day will feature a mix of sun and clouds with warm temperatures. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the 70s. Temperatures will drop into the 40s and 50s tonight under a partly cloudy sky.

Dense fog will be possible Monday morning.

Patchy dense fog will be possible after midnight through Monday morning. Make sure to plan extra travel time.

Monday will be warm once again with highs in the mid to upper 70s. It will turn breezy ahead of our next system, which is a cold front.

A cold front will bring much cooler weather to our area this week.

The front will cross our area later in the day on Monday, but no rainfall is expected with it. Tuesday will remain breezy with the system nearby. We certainly could use the rain as we are in a drought.

Much colder weather is on the way as we head into the new year! Highs will drop into the 50s Tuesday into New Year’s Day, and morning temperatures will drop into the 30s.

In fact, a FREEZE WATCH has been posted across Georgia for Tuesday morning as temperatures will drop to or below freezing.

Temperatures will climb back into the 60s later this week with lows eventually in the 40s.
