Cooler temperatures bring light freeze early next week

Flip flops and open windows will continue through Saturday. There will be a very slim chance of a shower or two as a weak, mainly dry front pushes through Wednesday and Thursday. The next chance of showers will arrive with cooler temperatures on Sunday.

Near record highs Friday and Saturday. The record high for Friday is 83 degrees, set in 1974 and the record high for Saturday is 82 degrees, set in 1957. The average high this time of year is 65 degrees.

Locally dense fog tonight and early Wednesday morning is possible with visibilities below 1 mile, especially for areas west of the River and closer to Highway 301 and I-75.

As temperatures tumble early next week light freeze and frost will be possible across inland area on Monday and Tuesday

Tonight: Mild with patchy to dense fog forming.

Wednesday: Fog advisories likely then becoming partly cloudy. Wake up temperatures in the 50s will give way to highs in the 70s to low 80s inland, upper 60s to low 70s along the beaches. Wind: SW 5-10 mph. Patchy to dense fog overnight.

A slight chance of showers will be possible on Sunday as a slow-moving front pushes through. Based on current models, timing will start during the tailgate festivities and continue through game time. Current rain chance, 20 percent with highs in the 60s to low 70s.
