Dense Fog Advisory covers the viewing area, Near-record Highs Expected Through Saturday

The Dense Fog Advisory has been extended to include the entire forecast area of southeast Georgia and northeast Florida.

The advisory will be in effect from 3 a.m. - 10 a.m. Thursday. Visibility could be reduced to a 1/4 of a mile or less.

The warming trend will continue through Saturday with increasing clouds late Saturday night. Becoming breezy and cooler with a chance of showers on Sunday.

The record high for Friday is 83 degrees, set in 1974 and the record high for Saturday is 82 degrees, set in 1957. The average high this time of year is around 65 degrees.

Patchy to locally dense fog will be possible tonight and early Thursday morning, with visibilities below 1 mile, for areas west of the River and closer to Highway 301 and I-75.

Following the cold front on Sunday, temperatures will tumble Monday and Tuesday mornings with a light freeze and frost possible across inland areas.

Tonight: Mild with patchy to dense fog forming.

Thursday: Patchy to areas of dense fog with advisories likely early. Cool afternoon highs under partly cloudy skies. Wake up temperatures in the 50s and 60s will give way to highs in the 70s and 80s inland, upper 60s to low 70s along the beaches. Wind: SE 5-10 mph. Patchy to dense fog overnight.

Game Day: A cloudy start with a slight chance of showers and drizzle as the front sinks south. Rain chances will average around 20 percent from tailgate to kickoff. Tailgating temperatures in the 50s with game time temperatures in the 60s. Turning cold overnight with a light freeze and frost possible early next week.
