JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Light rain will wrap up by mid-morning, and we should start to see some breaks in the clouds.
Winds will pick up out of the northwest, with gusts near 30 mph, so it’s going to feel chilly all afternoon. Highs won’t move much—upper 40s across southeast Georgia and low to mid-50s in northeast Florida.
Friday will start off frigid, but we do warm up a bit compared to Thursday. The National Weather Service says there’s very high confidence in a Hard Freeze for inland areas on Friday morning, with temperatures dropping into the mid-20s or colder. Even our coastal cities will see close to freezing temperatures.
The cold sticks around into early next week, but let’s talk about Sunday morning and the very small chance for snow in Southeast Georgia.
Another Arctic blast could mix with some moisture and bring a few light flurries. No freezing rain is expected, and we’re not looking at any accumulation; anything that falls would melt before hitting the ground. Still, highs will struggle once again, staying in the 40s and 50s.
