The coldest day of winter has arrived in Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia. Here’s what you should know

Next freeze Monday morning, early next week

Friday Forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Freeze Warning remains in effect through 9 a.m. due to temperatures across the region at or below 24.

A Cold Weather Advisory has been extended to 9 a.m. as the wind continues to be breezy in Northeast Florida, resulting in feels-like temperatures in the lower 20s.

Once the sun rises and the wind calms, temperatures will rise into the upper 50s, warmer than the 53 we had in Jacksonville on Thursday.

Saturday warms even more, closer to 70! before temperatures fall once again behind another cold front Sunday morning.

The possibility of flurries has moved more to the north of Waycross, but can’t rule out the chance of some falling flakes into Ware and Brantley counties. Otherwise, cold air sticks around through the beginning of the week, with additional hard freezes expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
