JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The rest of the day will be cloudy and cool with temperatures in the 60s. An isolated shower will be possible, but most spots will remain dry. We will see a mostly cloudy sky overnight with temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Patchy dense fog will be possible Sunday morning. Make sure to plan extra travel time.
A significant winter storm will pass by to our north on Sunday. We will be on the warmer side of the system. To our north, snow and ice will create treacherous travel conditions on Sunday and Monday. The front associated with this system will move across our area early Monday morning.
Temperatures will soar to near-record levels ahead of the front on Sunday with highs in the low 80s. The record high at Jacksonville International is 83 set back in 2023.
A few showers will be possible later in the evening through the overnight hours, but not much rain is expected and most of the rain will fall overnight.
Behind Sunday’s system, colder air will surge into our area early next week. Monday will be the warmest day with temperatures near 60. Beyond Monday, temperatures will only climb into the 50s Tuesday into the upcoming weekend.
There will be multiple chances for a freeze each night with temperatures dropping into the 20s and 30s.
Rain coverage looks minimal over the upcoming week as high pressure will settle in behind the system.
