Another frigid morning for Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia. Here’s when you can expect a brief warmup

. (.)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We’re under a Freeze Warning until 9 a.m. for much of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, with lows ranging from the mid-20s inland to near freezing closer to the coast. Even where temperatures stay just above 32°F, widespread frost is likely, especially late tonight through early morning.

Wind chills will be running in the mid-20s around daybreak.

Wednesday will be sunny but chilly, with highs in the mid to upper 50s and a brisk northwest breeze keeping it feeling colder. Tonight into Thursday morning brings another round of frost, followed by a gradual warming trend late week.

Friday looks milder with highs in the low to mid-60s, but the cold air reloads over the weekend. There’s a slight chance of rain early Saturday, possibly mixing with a few snowflakes well north, then a sharp drop in temperatures Saturday night. Lows dip into the low 20s inland with another widespread frost Sunday morning, and Sunday stays cool and breezy with highs in the low 40s.

Key messaging:

• Protect people, pets, plants, and pipes

• Multiple nights of frost/freezing temperatures

• Coldest mornings: tonight, Thursday morning, Saturday night/Sunday morning

• Brief warm-up Friday before another cold push

I’ll keep an eye on any changes to headlines and timing and will update as needed.
