JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It has been a bitterly cold day across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Despite temperatures this afternoon in the 40s, the wind has made it feel much colder. Wind chill values will remain in the 30s for the rest of the day.
Tonight will be breezy and very cold with low temperatures in the 20s and 30s. A COLD WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for our area late tonight through Monday morning. Wind chill values will drop into the teens and 20s thanks to the wind.
While the forecast wind chill is not as low as what we saw Sunday morning, make sure to dress in multiple layers. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur in minutes with these temperatures and the wind.
Temperatures will warm into the 50s and 60s by the middle of the week ahead of our next disturbance. Rain chances will increase later this week thanks to an approaching front.
