JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Saturday morning is about 10-15 degrees warmer than Friday, but the below normal high continues another day.
Not as windy today as an area of high pressure moves north of the region. Expect temperatures to top out in the upper 50s in Southeast Georgia to mid-60s in Northeast Florida. Plenty of sunshine in the forecast!
With few clouds, overnight temperatures into Sunday will plummet back down to freezing levels. A Freeze Warning is in effect beginning at 3 a.m. Sunday for all of Southeast Georgia counties west of I-95 and portions of Columbia, Duval and Nassau counties north of I-10, west of I-95 and all of Baker County, through 8 a.m.
Currently, there’s a Freeze Watch in effect for portions of Clay County west of the river and all of Bradford, Union and Alachua counties and south Columbia County. This watch will likely become either a Frost Advisory or Freeze Warning at some point Saturday. The National Weather Service is monitoring the winds and drier air to see if these areas will drop below freezing.
Be sure to protect your sensitive vegetation, pets, and people. Also, practice safe heat protect. Our area continues to experience severe to extreme drought, as well. Therefore, no unnecessary burning is advised to avoid brush fires.
