Cooler temperatures kick off the day
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Good morning, Jacksonville! I’m Katie Garner from The Weather Authority, and today is starting off with a refreshing change. That cold front that came through yesterday has really helped bring some more seasonable air to our area.
Right now, we’re sitting at about 55 degrees. There’s a definite chill when you step outside, and you’ll notice it especially with the breeze in the air.
For parents getting the kids ready for school, it’s a chilly 57 degrees around 7 a.m. But don’t worry—by 3 p.m., we’re expecting temperatures to warm up to about 75 degrees. It’s shaping up to be a great day.
Breezy winds and dry skies
Along with the cooler air, I’m seeing some breezy conditions—especially along the coast, where wind speeds are expected to reach into the 20s. Further inland, breezes should be in the teens, so everyone will feel that wind today.
Thanks to that high pressure system lingering overhead and the dry air left behind by the cold front, we’re in for another dry day. That means the Exact Track 4D radar is keeping quiet for now.
Rain expected to return soon
That dry spell won’t last all week. There is rain in the forecast, and it could impact local events like the Players Tournament. While I’ll have more details coming up soon, it’s a good idea to keep an umbrella handy.
