Mid-March in northeast Florida, southeast Georgia brings warm temperatures, rain before turning chilly next week

Saturday forecast

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As spring break and golf continue, expect mostly sunny skies and a warmer Saturday, with temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s. Slight chance of late afternoon showers in our southern counties: Alachua, Putnam, and Flagler.

Tonight: lingering showers with lows in the mid-60s.

Sunday starts nicely before scattered showers and storms move in from the south towards the north. Warm temperatures in the 80s, along with increased moisture, will spark some potentially strong storms late in the afternoon and evening.

The area remains under an Extreme Drought and a Phase II Severe Water Shortage. Remember, landscape irrigation is limited to one day a week. Do not water between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
