JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Breezy and mostly cloudy conditions will define Sunday along the northeast Florida, southeast Georgia coast, with strong onshore winds keeping temperatures well below seasonal norms for late March.

Strong onshore winds and mostly cloudy skies will likely hold high temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees for locations along and east of I-95 on Sunday.

Scattered showers remain possible Sunday, particularly for coastal St. Johns and Flagler counties. Occasional gusts of 25–30 mph are expected at inland locations through late Sunday afternoon.

Otherwise, temperatures will hold around 70 degrees today in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.

Beach conditions remain dangerous on Sunday. The High Rip Current Risk continues through Monday evening, and the High Surf Advisory runs through 5 a.m. Monday, with breaking waves of 8–10 feet expected.

Inexperienced swimmers should stay out of the water entirely. Those who do venture in should swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax, float and avoid swimming against the current. If possible, swim parallel to the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Monday outlook

Conditions improve noticeably heading into Monday, with warmer temperatures returning across the region. Inland Northeast Florida and north central Florida will see the warmest readings, with highs in the low 80s along and west of I-75.

Southeast Georgia and eastern northeast Florida will warm into the upper 70s, while the immediate Atlantic Coast stays cooler in the low 70s due to continued easterly onshore flow.

East winds of 10–15 mph with coastal gusts up to 25 mph are expected on Monday.
