Warm Weekend Ahead as Drought Conditions Worsen

Warm, sunny days expected as high pressure dominates forecast

High pressure will bring sunshine and warmer temperatures to our area over the next week.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The rest of the day will feature a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the 80s. Tonight will be pleasant with a mostly clear sky. Temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s.

Patchy dense fog will be possible on Sunday.

Dense fog will be possible overnight. Make sure to plan extra travel time if you are heading out early Sunday morning.

The rest of the weekend will be warm and pleasant. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the 80s and it will be dry thanks to an area of high pressure nearby.

The general pattern over the next week will feature sunshine and dry conditions thanks to a large area of high pressure. Quite a change from earlier this week where we had several days of rain and clouds.

The rainfall outlook is not good news for our area. Over the next seven days, little or no rain is expected, and we certainly need any rain that we can get due to the worsening drought over our area.

Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects the overall pattern over the past few months. Most of our area remains in an extreme drought. An exceptional drought classification has been expanded east to include more of our area.
