JACKSONVILLE, FLa. – A cold front is pushing through our area today, approaching from the northwest. Northwesterly winds are expected to range from 15-20 mph, with gusts reaching 25-30 mph.
Even drier air will begin filtering into the area behind the front during the afternoon and into Monday morning, raising elevated fire concerns.
A few isolated showers may be possible along the coast of southeastern Georgia as the front moves through, though chances remain low.
Temperatures today will vary across the region. Southeast Georgia can expect highs ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s, while northeastern Florida will run warmer as temperatures climb into the upper 80s, low 90s inland. Beaches will stay in the upper 70s, low 80s.
Breezy evening ahead
Winds will remain breezy along the coast into the evening hours before shifting to come out of the northeast. Overnight lows will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s across northeastern Florida, while southeastern Georgia will see cooler temperatures in the upper 40s.
