JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tonight will be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s.
We will see a partly to mostly cloudy sky on Monday with temperatures in the low to mid 90s. Showers and storms will remain in the forecast on Monday due to the wind flow around Tropical Depression Two in the Gulf.
While the system will be west of our area, a southerly wind will bring tropical moisture into the region.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible at any point in the day. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty wind will be possible in any storm.
Make sure to keep an eye to the sky and storms could develop rapidly. Activity will eventually dissipate later in the evening.
The disturbance will continue to move away from the region early this week. The highest rainfall totals will be west of I-75. Regardless, sea breeze interaction and a surge in tropical moisture will keep showers and storms in the forecast. t

Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to a moderate and severe drought which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
