Heat Advisories likely to start the week in Northeast Florida, Southeast Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Temperatures will climb into the mid-90s on Monday before pushing even higher by Tuesday. Some inland areas of southeast Georgia could see thermometer readings hit 100 degrees.

But the air temperature is only part of the story. What it actually feels like outside is where things get truly dangerous. On both Monday and Tuesday afternoons, it will feel like 108 to 115 degrees, especially in inland areas of northeast Florida. Heat Advisories are highly likely for both days.

Winds will be light Monday morning, coming out of the west-northwest before shifting to the north and northeast as an afternoon sea breeze moves in. By Tuesday, a light wind from the southwest will arrive ahead of an approaching weather system moving through southeast Georgia.

Don’t count on evening storms to last long. Any shower or storm activity is expected to fade shortly after sunset each day.
