A Heat Advisory tonight through 8 p.m. A Heat Advisory and Extreme Heat Watch on Wednesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms, some locally strong to severe has prompted a Weather Alert Day.
The Heat Advisory for today will expire at 8 p.m. A Heat Advisory and Extreme Heat Watch is in place for Wednesday. Scattered showers with thunderstorms will develop ahead of a slow-moving cold front, arriving during the afternoon and lingering late Wednesday night. The heat indices will reach 104 - 112 degrees.
Strong to isolated severe storms will be possible tomorrow afternoon and evening. The main hazards will be damaging wind, possible flooding due to heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. The current tornado risk for Wednesday is less than 2 percent areawide. The potential for strong or damaging wind is 5 to 15 percent.
The unsettled pattern continues Thursday through the weekend. The increasing cloud cover will help return our temperatures to near normal, maybe even a couple of degrees below normal. The rainfall deficit since January 1 is around 8 inches.

Wednesday: Weather Alert Day starts at 12 p.m. Heat Advisory and an Extreme Heat Watch 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of an approaching cold front. Strong to severe storms will be possible. Lows in the upper 70s to low 80s. Afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s. Feels Like temperatures 104 - 112 degrees.
Thursday: Not as hot with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly across NE FL, 50-70 percent. Southeast Georgia will see partly cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of showers. Lows in the 70s to low 80s. Highs in the 90s.
Looking ahead: Rain chances Friday and this weekend. The heat will return to near normal as the waves of showers and storms move through.
