Visit Florida tries to bolster tourism after storm

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida's tourism agency has launched a "four-pronged" marketing plan to help the industry after Hurricane Matthew caused destruction in parts of the state, according to Visit Florida President & CEO Will Seccombe.

"Last week, the Visit Florida team was focused on the safety of our visitors and fellow Floridians," Seccombe wrote in a blog post emailed Tuesday by the agency. "This week, we are shifting our focus to recovery and to letting the world know that the Florida tourism industry is open for business."

In addition to a series of new videos, a social media campaign and a push to post images of the state with the hashtag "#LoveFL," the plan will include a focus on communities directly impacted by Hurricane Hermine in September and last week's Hurricane Matthew, Seccombe wrote.

No price tag was announced with the marketing plan.
